My Story
I first became passionate about nutrition when I was sixteen years old. At that point, I had been struggling with debilitating mood disorders which rendered me heavily medicated and almost non-functional. I was also plagued with health issues that resulted in an obscene amount of antibiotics as well as multiple surgeries.
My life changed because of a food journal--that is, I recognized correlations between what I was eating and how I was feeling. My world was transformed by this very basic exercise. It turned out that I was highly sensitive to a multitude of foods and once those foods were eliminated, I felt an overwhelming sense of clarity and calm, which were sensations I had never before experienced. My manic state dissipated quickly and my quality of life improved dramatically.
I decided at that moment that I would devote my life to helping others get their lives back through diet and lifestyle modifications. I spent the following fifteen years committed to my own personal growth and learning as much as possible about how our food impacts our mind and body. I went to school for nutrition and graduated with honors from the Global College of Natural Medicine in 2010. I furthered my education at the Nutrition Therapy Institute and received a secondary certificate in 2016.
I have been in private practice since 2010 and after helping hundreds of people to get their lives back, I'm convinced that my story was not a fluke. I believe everyone can improve and that everyone deserves to feel alive and full of life. That includes you!
What is lifestyle therapy and why do I include it? Lifestyle therapy provides a thorough assessment of all areas of a person's life. This is important because it looks at the client as a "whole," instead of hyperfocusing on individual components. By examining and working with the "whole" person, we can achieve greater and longer lasting changes.
